I don’t relieve stress. I don’t have the time to, since I spend most of my free time trying unsuccessfully to do well in this class. When I should be sleeping, I am doing my homework for the other classes I have, that I didn’t have time to do.
Hopefully stress will cause me to have a brain aneurism young, so that I can get some rest, after I spend thousands of dollars on an education I won’t be able to get a job for, due to the poor job market, and the fact that about 50 million people will have the same degree as me, and probably from a better school.
I guess you could say writing this tirade is part of my stress relief. Now I have to stop writing this so I can write a 500 word story about a poll that maybe 20 people filled out- if I am lucky.

I agree with you about spending so much time trying in this class. Also the 500 word story is a pain and makes me more stressed.
ReplyDeleteI agree, but you do need to find some relief or you will go crazy. I like how we all need the poll filled out but nobody not even the people in our class will fill it out...I only have like 14 right now. I like how truthful you are.
ReplyDeleteI HEAR YA on allll of this! I know how you feel completely! I feel guilty when I try and relax- i have a million other things I 'should' be doing! At least- although a zillion other people will have the same degree as you- you are accomplishing something for yourself! right? Thats the way I look at school- its for me and noone else. You can loose your job, house, car etc.. but you cant loose your education or degree!
ReplyDeleteI like it that this blog entry is your way to relieve stress. This is what writing is for. Writing is a way to let all your feelings out. That is sure to relieve your stress.
ReplyDeleteHannah made a great point about writing, whether it be in a journal or a blog. That is considered a great way to handle stress. Of course, like you said, it's harder to write and do well when we're under a ton of pressure and losing so much sleep. I'm sure feeling it, but I also think every student is probably really feeling this pressure right now, because fall semester's wrapping up and there's so much coming at us at the same time. So, hang in there, Lucina, and let's not give up. Just remember that you'll be able to do a lot with a degree in Communication and/or Journalism. Take care, try to get some rest and have a good holiday off.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly how you feel. I always feel like I don't have time to relax, and if I do I feel guilty. I feel like I always have SO many things to do, and I never will be able to get it all done. Hang in there though! Fall semester is almost over, and then you will have a break! :)
ReplyDeleteI used to do that, where I would be doing homework when I should be sleeping. But now I have a new born son and he keeps me up at random hours all the time and I am always tired so it doesn't seem to matter anymore.
